State of the Blog

by Melissa on May 7, 2014 · 8 comments

About a month and a half ago I sent out an apology.  I stated that I was on the job hunt and quite frankly suffering from writer’s block, thus there was a lack of new content on The Mellyboo Project.  Please read this state of the blog to see what’s happening.

You may have noticed that, once again, there has been a lack of posts.  This isn’t due to writer’s block, this time.  It’s because I have since accepted a job as an International Travel Consultant.  I am also co-organizing the Toronto Travel Massive (a monthly meet-up for travel bloggers & those working in the travel industry).  I’m currently running the #10k4good campaign with TripleSpot where I am trying to raise $10 000 for charity (and crossing off an important item from my bucket list).  I am also the maid of honour at one of my best friend’s wedding later this month.  Needless to say – it’s not writer’s block this time, it’s the fact that there are only 24hrs in a day and only one of me.  If I could clone myself to produce all the content I want to for the blog, I would in a heartbeat.
Writer's Block II
I wanted to let you know as I have always had a policy of being open and honest with my readers.  I have plenty of content I wish to publish (as soon as I have time to write quality material) – including finishing off my East Africa Tour with Nomad Adventure Tours, and writing about my California roadtrip– which happened back in February & March.  It’s coming, I promise.

For now, please take a look into my #10k4good campaign, and do your part to help me raise money – which doesn’t cost you a cent!

TripleSpot_DoGood_Graphic Till next time,
Melly xoxo

Hi Melissa, like Anne I would like to congratulate you on your new job. It sounds as though you have a lot of future access to travel and the industry. This should add even further to the back log of content you’ll be able to share will us 🙂

I love the completely unique and clear name for your site.

Hey Melissa,

I know the feeling! Life just gets so busy! I have 3 weddings this month (all close people) and starting a new job, things are a little crazy! I wish there were more hours in the day!

Congratulations on the new job, sounds like you have exciting things happening!

But it’s important to make sure you make time for yourself! Hope things get a little less busy soon! x

Hi my friend! Was just having a peek around your website, I really do miss your writing. I didn’t even know you had started working with Flight Centre, that is awesome and the travel industry would be so perfect for someone with such great travel experience.

Miss you heaps, you popped into my head recently and I thought, I must get in touch, it’s almost been two years since you left here! Crazy how time flies. Love and hugs.

Congrats on the job! I worked for flight centre in Australia. Hard work but the parties are awesome and you’ll get to meet some amazing people. Good luck!
